Best Edition Batman (2016-) Vol. 1: I Am Gotham with Free MOBI EDITION!

Batman Vol 1 I am Rebirth. Is DC latest soft reboot post New 52 which ended up being a mixed bag overall. What wasn't was Snyder's run on Batman. Coming straight from Snyder's critical acclaimed run on Batman. Rebirth tells a different story with Tom king on the helm. It ended up being just okay.The story starts off with Batman pushing himself to the limit of what is humanly possible. There he meets Gotham and Gotham Girl the two characters at the forefront of this volume. Two new Superman like heroes on Batman's side. That's where the comic falls flat these two new heroes are boring. While the premise might be intriguing it but it ends up falling flat. Their origins are similar to Batman but altered a bit. After you get past the gimmick of they have superpowers you realize that their boring. At one point Batman calls the Justice League to fight Gotham the new male superhero and they were being beaten by him. It was at that point I realized Tom King was trying too hard to make the character interesting. The story goes on from there and at the end of it was just average not the worse but far from the best.The Art is good characters drawn well. Batman has a new Suit design and it just works. Colors are done well. A fantastic job by David Finch.In conclusion, I am Gotham is nothing special. For fans trying to get into the books you're better off starting off with Snyder's run as the volume mentions the past event such as Zero Year. For general fans, if you have nothing better to read than you could do worse I suppose. At the end it has the potential to become interesting down the line but for now it's the definition of mediocrity.
